German creation museum ?

Postby Peter Henderson » Mon Dec 30, 2013 10:26 pm

Noticed this at the bottom of today's nonsense from CMI:

http://creation.com/the-impossible-insects#author

Joachim Scheven, Ph.D., has studied biology, paleontology, geology, tropical medicine, and parasitology. He has done extensive post-doctoral paleontological research, and is curator of the German creation museum Lebendige Vorwelt (Living Prehistory).

I did try googling but found nothing.

Article dates from 1999 so perhaps it has since closed.

Could be Ashley.

Can't seem to see anything else about the museum or the author.

Found this but could not get it to translate into English:
http://www.psiram.com/ge/index.php/Joachim_Scheven
However, I can make out that the opening para says - among various other things - that he is a biology teacher (unclear whether school or college) and a young Earth creationist and that his 'Lebendige Vorwelt' ('Living Primeval World' I think) museum in the town of Hagen was in existence from 1984 to 2001 (had that been 2002 I would have wondered whether the big flood of summer 2002 in much of central Europe did for it). The bloke was still writing books etc up to 2007 at least. I also came across this notice: http://www.amen.org.uk/x/vorwelt/index.htm?

I was going to send this earlier, but got myself locked out of the forum!
Google knows about it in German. Try "Lebendige Vorwelt museum".
This link says it has not had a web presence since 2005
http://www.amen.org.uk/x/vorwelt/index.htm?
This list says that it is no longer in operation

An account, from an old list of creationism museums, is given here:

The list referred to from 2008 is here:

he must be about 80. I met the man at a creationist conference in 1984. Silly nonsense. He also misrepresented work by Fred Broadhurst on the coal measures.
