Howlerfest Report

Postby Roger Stanyard » Sun Oct 15, 2006 9:57 am

This is a quck report on yesterday's Hwolerfest with PZ Myers and Larry Moron. You can find a quick report on it on PZ's blog at ... t.php#more.

The event was basically a social occasion with a tour round the (very crowded) Natural History Museum in South Kensington, London, followed by beer in a locla pub and a meal afterwards (I couldn't make the meal because of problems with the railway journey him).

PZ reckons there were about 20 people in the group - I counted 16 but it was probably more. This was very much a grouping of scientists including Mike who is looking to join BCSE (I hope).

Last night I posted the real important bit in the closed section of this forum so members should have read it.

I find these sort of events very important (we used to organise them for the satellite communications sector). It gives a chance to press the flesh and build up the network as well as socialising with bright and likeable people. (Why is it people in the anti-creationist movement all seem to like beer? - it's just the same with SJS!).

So we have now got to know some of the top names around and its always a pleasure to meet our friends from the other side of the pond.
