Dear all

This is just to alert you to the fact that I've been updating the
Western Sahara Project website (still in progress, but most of the
updating has been done). The new site can be accessed at:

Some of you might also be interested in downloading the latest field
report (from our November 2006 season), from the following page:

This is a Word file, just over 1.8 Mb in size. If you would like me to
email you a copy please let me know and I will do so. I have avoided
sending this as an attachment as not all of you have access to a fast
internet connection. There are other documents available on the site
covering the work of the project and Saharan archaeology and
environmental change (see the "Publications" and "Field Reports" links
on the left).

My colleague Jo Clarke is returning to the area around Tifariti to
undertake a longer season of detailed archaeological survey next month,
and I hope to run a 2-3 week survey expedition to the Southern Sector in
the autumn (some time between the beginning of September and the end of
November). The latter will be funded largely by the contributions of
paying amateur volunteers. There are still one or two places left. At
least two of you are on the list already - if there is anyone else
reading this who has expressed interest but hasn't confirmed that they
would like to participate, or would like some more information, please
drop me an email.

All the best
