Rabble rouser Ken Ham and his biased Facebook fans

Creationist bloggers can be infuriating. If one has infuriated you by persisting in nonsense even when corrected, or refusing to reply to your criiticsm, you may feel driven to recording the fact. If so, you may register your disapproval here and hope a response is forthcoming.

Rabble rouser misusing the Bible to attack science

''... The Bible addresses climate change: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22).''

The Bible does NOT say there was an 'ice age' after the Genesis flood. The Bible does NOT say that the global warming/climate change that we are experiencing and measuring right now cannot be the result of human activity. Human activity that directly or indirectly leads to additional emissions of greenhouse gases, as we cause deforestation and burn fossil fuels; emissions that have increased atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide to more than 400 ppm.

Ken Ham however insists that BOTH of these things are true.

He normally fails to mention Genesis 8:22 when speaking of this fictional 'recent' and 'rapid' ice age. He often does quote the verse when denying the reality (and potential future dangers) of unchecked and possibly unstoppable man-caused global warming.

So I suggest that he is MISUSING God's word. Which - in this verse - suggests normal seasons year after year and no longer-term climate change whether warming or cooling (after the flood). Whereas Mr Ham frequently (and accurately) often mentions that climates have regularly changed during Earth history for reasons not connected with human activities (as if this somehow disproves that current climate change is - certainly - NOT 'natural' or 'God caused', because all other causes apart from our altering of the atmosphere have been ruled out by scientists).

And smaller than otherwise future families and a slower world population rise would make tackling climate change easier, and result in less other man-caused environmental impacts.

Christians - do not listen to Ken Ham on this topic! His teachings are not as 'biblical' as he tries to insist, I suggest.

I do however broadly agree with him on another topic he mentioned on Facebook today:
''...But when people reject genetically determined biological gender, that's applauded!
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... she.html''
Whilst some people do appear from what they say to genuinely believe they were born with the body of the 'wrong' gender (something people like Ham appear to disbelieve can be the case) I do think the transgender political/social agenda sometimes goes a bit too far. (I only skimmed the Daily Mail article about developments in Tasmania.)

Rabble rouser (and liar) Ken Ham

Email as sent:

''Many gems thought to take millions of years to form can be made in a lab quickly. Petrified wood can be produced in a lab quickly. As biblical creationists have stated over and over--there's nothing in observational science contradicting a young earth.''

Earth's geological history did not take place in a lab. (Or in Ken Ham's head.)

And even if his last statement was in any way true (it is not) 'observational' science is not the whole of science.
https://ageofrocks.wordpress.com/100-re ... th-is-old/ (written by a geologist Christian)

But Ken Ham is a dishonest science-hating rabble-rousing fundamentalist.

Who won't countenance reality when it goes against his creationist agenda. Which is why this email will be blocked and never read by anyone at Answers 'in' Genesis.

Rabble rouser Ken Ham and his wilful stupidity

Postby a_haworthroberts » Sat Dec 22, 2018 8:52 pm

When is a global flood NOT a flood covering the entire planet? When it's what might occur in REALITY (as opposed to fundamentalist dogma and certain Bible verses) as a consequence of man-made global warming, if the issue is not tackled with sweeping cuts to greenhouse gas emissions.

https://www.facebook.com/aigkenham/
''We can be absolutely certain that there will never be a future global flood as God promises with the covenant of the rainbow that he will never again destroy the earth with such a Flood (Genesis 9). Next time it will be by fire (2 Peter 3), and that's certain.''
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/2018 ... 375523002/

But expecting Ken Ham to engage with REALITY is just too much to ask. Much easier to try and indoctrinate Christians against science for no biblical or other reason WHATSOEVER. It's Ken Ham. It's what he DOES.

In WHAT way is man-caused global warming, and tackling the problem, 'unbiblical' or 'against' Christianity.

Silence.

Even after I refer AiG to this post via their website.

''This scientist arbitrarily defines religion as involving the supernatural, declares atheism is not religion, arbitrarily declares evolution is science and fact, so he can then falsely declare creation is at war with science! It's how secularists work.
There's no war between observational science and creation, as such science confirms the Genesis account. But there's a spiritual war between Christianity and the blind faith religion of atheism and the belief in evolution which is contradicted by observational science.
Jerry Coyne (emeritus professor) is an atheist, and so such an article is totally expected from someone who is against God and totally committed to his religion of atheism. Interestingly he sees Christians who compromise as inconsistent--which they are:
https://www.sfchronicle.com/news/articl ... 297.php?''

There's nothing remotely arbitrary about your comments, eh Ken.

This how 'biblical' creationists work. Sow confusion with inaccurate but dogmatic statements on Facebook or similar platforms. Such as substituting science with so-called 'observational science' (but even the latter disproves the '6,000 year old universe' and recent literally global flood 'causing' and 'explaining' the fossil record - both of which Ken Ham insists are 'true' statements - eg with observations of extra solar comet Oumuamua, observations of the utterly non-random pattern of the fossil record, and observations of light from galaxies billions of light years away).

Ken Ham sounding off on Facebook today

Postby a_haworthroberts » Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:45 pm

''Regardless of where you stand politically, everyone needs to understand that each person has a worldview based on the beliefs they hold. There is no neutral position. The only way to begin to build a correct worldview is starting with God's Word.''

Except that the Bible is NOT some kind of exhaustive encyclopedia covering every single topic known to mankind.

Which is why - for instance - Ken Ham's 'worldview' that current climate change is 'explained' in the Bible, and that it is caused by God and not Man, is total wilful lies.

Ken Ham and people like him hi-jack the Bible for their own fact-free agendas on the subject of climate change.

There are, thank God, other Christians who are - like most of the rest of the human race when they study this subject or experience the effects of the changing climate first hand - on the side of the facts and NOT on the side of dogmatic denialism.

The enemy of science successfully rouses the rabble - again

Postby a_haworthroberts » Mon Dec 31, 2018 8:19 pm

''Many observations in astronomy contradict the supposed 4.5 billion years ago formation of the solar system evolutionary story. Nothing in observational science has ever contradicted the Genesis account of the origin of the universe about 6,000 years ago.
https://www.foxnews.com/science/saturns ... sa-warns''

No - I cannot spot any connection between this recent science story and the dogmatic remarks of Mr Ken Ham. So these rings may not have formed at the time the solar system first formed. What of it? Nor did the Great Barrier Reef form when the Earth first became a 'planet'. But both are older than 6,000 years. That is known for sure (unless God or nature are deceiving us).

But if you are a lying fundamentalist bigot Christian then nothing - not stars not major new geological features - is forming now (God did it 'all' in creation week and everything is simply staying the same or 'winding down').

Happy New Year.

(And lest your brain might engage with scientific reality here's another piece of wilful information and dogma that is intended to deceive and confuse - from the SAME source and posted on the same page:
''Just a reminder it doesn't take millions of years to form fossils--just the right conditions. And the conditions during the global Flood of Noah's day around 4300 years ago resulted in billions of fossils all over the earth.''
No such event happened. It's fiction.)

Ken Ham is a pathological LIAR

Postby a_haworthroberts » Thu Jan 03, 2019 11:20 pm

On the subject of diamonds.

From 27 minutes in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9IA1TUnVuc

The 'right conditions' (to produce SYNTHETIC diamonds). In a LAB and NOT in nature. The usual YEC nonsense that artificial diamonds created by humans in a lab somehow 'disprove' deep time and natural processes known to real science. That diamonds were formed at 'creation' and that the no doubt supernatural Noah's worldwide flood - for which there is no scientific evidence - somehow brought them to the surface (from Earth's MANTLE).

It takes more faith to believe in young earth creationism than in real science.

The LIAR Ken Ham also says that diamonds were 'carbon dated' (when he means that carbon-14 was found on them). ''They used carbon dating on them''. No they did NOT, LIAR Ken Ham. Diamonds (or the vast majority of them) were NEVER (from something that was once) alive. Carbon dating is used on material that was once ALIVE. Ken Ham is a wilful, unrepentant, LIAR.
https://www.radiocarbon.com/about-carbon-dating.htm
''Radiocarbon dating is a method that provides objective age estimates for carbon-based materials that originated from living organisms...''.

And Ham is repeating his rubbish here too:
https://answersingenesis.org/geology/ro ... s-to-form/
''Diamonds aren’t billions of years old. They’re young, just like our earth, likely formed deep in the earth during the global flood of Noah’s day.'' That also contradicts the earlier AiG claim mentioned today that they were formed at 'creation'. LIARS.

Yes. Because that is what evidence points to. An ancient massive tsunami - but NO recent months long 'global flood'. The Bible is not scientific evidence. Ken Ham claims to love 'science'. His words show the opposite.

More lying (or wilful stupidity) by Ken Ham

Postby a_haworthroberts » Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:26 pm

''More nonsensical attempted evolutionary brainwashing. No mention of evolution in the article as the content is about the complex design of our feet to enable us to walk and run. The headline attributes such complex design to the fairy-tale story of chance evolution:
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20190 ... g0B8tDU8''

But THIS is the original science paper - and it DOES use the word 'evolved':

PS IF Ham is referring to the article at THIS website, then it too (whilst not describing it) does mention 'evolution':

Ken Ham baffled and bemused again

Postby a_haworthroberts » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:28 pm

Neither Ken Ham's own conjectures nor the Bible can explain this:
https://www.foxnews.com/science/moon-di ... ar-surface
So he's decided to rubbish the story instead:
https://www.facebook.com/aigkenham/
"How much of the moon's surface and crust have they explored to make this statement about the moon? Another fairy-tale story that they masquerade as “science” to brainwash in the anti-God religion of evolutionary naturalism. Oh, and the rock didn't come with an age label!"

The usual anti-scientific ignorance-promoting propaganda - from someone who frequently claims to 'love' science.

And a rabble of bigots on Ham's Facebook page liked it.

Rabble rouser Ken Ham - false teacher, anti-science, denier

Postby a_haworthroberts » Wed Jan 30, 2019 8:41 pm

''There's only one accurate way of going back in time, and that's to read the account of the One who's always been there, who knows everything, who had recorded for us the events of the past we need to know about. The ultimate "time machine" is God's Word!
http://www.tunisiesoir.com/science/rese ... 19-2019/''

And God's Word does NOT mention or even hint at the 'rapid post-flood ice age' that the heretical fundamentalist and hardcore cult-leading bigot Ken Ham regularly bangs on about (whilst simultaneously denying for utterly unbiblical and unChristian reasons the known facts behind TODAY'S climate change/global warming).
